The best digital camera, replaces my Nikon film DSLR!

I finally found a camera to replace my Nikon AF 35mm film camera. I've had a lot of digital cameras over the last 10 years, mostly point shots, and this camera has blown them all away. Aside from the film's dynamic range (width or dynamic range), it can take better pictures than my film SLR. At 100iso I didn't see any digital noise and details were crisp, so maybe no noise reduction/line enhancement is used either. I've just taken 100 shots and the battery isn't even dead yet. The camera lights up fast! You don't have to wait for the camera to boot up (turn on). You take it, turn it on, take a picture. It has almost every feature you could want from a digital camera, except for video, but it can't record DSLR video yet. It would also be nice if it had HDMI for digital TVs like more expensive Nikon cameras. The camera is lightweight but looks premium. The controls are easy to use and the viewfinder shows the status of everything. The camera focuses very quickly, faster than any other camera I've had, and is quiet. The only sound this camera makes is the mirror popping up, and even that is quiet. The camera can take 3 pictures at 10.2 megapixels per second! That's amazing. Before I bought the Nikon D40x, I researched for weeks, looking at Canon, Sony and Panasonic, and it really is a must-have camera. I even had the budget to buy a $2000 Nikon d3000, but this camera actually does what I need. That's limited to the new lens, of course, but unless you've got a bunch of old lenses that need a drive, buy this camera. Nikon, you did a great job!

Pros
  • In-camera image enhancement and retouching features
Cons
  • No mold required
