Review on 🚿 Moen 8346 Commercial Posi-Temp Pressure Balancing 4 Port Cycling Valve Hand Shower System - Chrome by Dawn Wilson

I installed this unit after spending many hours looking for a good value shower set. So far I've been absolutely happy with it. I had to solder the intake valve as usual, but it turned out to be not that difficult. You must remove the main cartridge and the two small check valves that come with this unit when soldering (to avoid heat damage to the plastic and rubber components). The cartridge feels solid, as do the two check valves. These shut off valves come in handy if I ever need to remove the main cartridge as I don't have to turn off the water supply to the house. Flush the system with tap water before reinstalling the check valves and main cartridge. The metal hose and fairing kit are of good quality and work well. The vertical bar works well and the hose height is fully adjustable. I found that the included screws that came with the rod were about 1/2 inch too short to go through the tile, backing board, and wall stud and still hold the rod very securely. I used my own longer bolts for this part of the stem. The instructions are pretty clear if you're a visual learner. Pay close attention to the small drawing showing the correct "up" position for the main cartridge; Install it upside down and things won't work properly! additional "notch" on the brass rod, which determines the "up" position. Moen technical support was excellent. I made two calls with questions and got through to a live person who helped me immediately. My only minor complaint is that the hand held shower head sprays too wide. The atomizer is quite diffuse and I prefer a denser water pattern. Three months in my bathroom and the unit works and is holding up great. Would buy again.
