This knife is my everyday stainless steel knife that I use almost every day in the kitchen. I'm a chef and I use different knives for different reasons and this knife works just as well as my $400-500 knives. If I have a product that requires a stainless steel knife, I select it. The blade is a signal tip. So if you're left-handed, you need to get a knife that's made for left-handers. I did a lot of research before buying this knife and I've had it for four months now, it's such a workhorse. I would highly recommend this knife however it is an expensive purchase for a young beginner cook but you will not be disappointed.
