The floor in our house is 70% dog beds and 30% soil. We have many dog beds. Our girls are not allowed on furniture or a bed. They have more beds than we do. That's a fair deal. The problem is that our older girl in the kitchen likes to be right where I need her. She has two beds in the kitchen, and no matter what I do, she doesn't lie on either bed. She has the exact same bedding in our bedroom and sleeps happily in both beds at night. She's a strange girl. This rug solved my problems. I like this bed/mat because I can easily wash it and take it to the patio. Our oldest girl has arthritis and I don't like her lying on a hard surface. It's not the softest bed, but it offers some support. It also encourages her to lie where I want. I wouldn't call it a cooling bed at all. We actually have cool blankets that physically lower their body temperature by 20 degrees, it's just a pet blanket. I like that it rolls up because we can take it in the car. Sometimes we have to travel across our state for meetings and having that in the car so she can lie down is great.
