My first walkie-talkie. Bought cheap on a whim and have been learning more and more since then. I recently got my technician license and am looking forward to being able to stream and not just listen. Programming isn't as hard as people think. The menu navigation makes sense. Not much can be done on the two-line display. Spend some time fiddling with the menu and you'll quickly turn it off. The battery life is really good. I can listen to my local repeater and area control center (dual monitoring) all day for 3 days before it needs to be charged. The factory antenna is particularly suitable for short-distance communication, for example between cars when driving off-road. . I can connect my local repeater to it, but I bought a Nagoya 701 and it has slightly better reception. I think this is a good first radio for everyone. Miscellaneous!
