We bought four of these tables to set up a coffee table in our living room. With a walking toddler we wanted something softer than our other table and something that could prevent clutter. It worked very well - our system just throws its toys there in no particular order, and it's easy enough to find everything. Note that when they arrived they had a strong chemical smell. I left them open for a few days and it has since resolved. A bit embarrassing, of course, but not the best option to buy (IMHO). Our son found plenty of uses for ottomans for storage and I'm guessing the builders didn't anticipate it. Lids, for example, are often "boats" for him and his stuffed animals. The ottoman itself was a spaceship. and with a lid, it's a soft spot for him to jump or sit down. They also support our adult weight when you all have to sit on stools to jump off family style. They held everything up well with no rips or tears. It's not the prettiest piece of furniture, but it's very functional, which is what we needed at this stage in our lives. We gave away the footrests as unnecessary, but they seemed quite suitable to us. Small but nice.
