I bought this canister filter hoping it would make my turtle tank a little more comfortable. It's not like this. Generally actually. Honestly, I don't think I have anything positive to say about this product. First, the instructions are extremely vague. Luckily, with the several dozen pieces that come with the kit, I was able to sit down and carefully put each piece together without ruining or breaking anything. When I put it on my tank it didn't look good. I wasn't in for aesthetic reasons though, I had high hopes that it would keep my tank clean. That's exactly what he did. Minimum. He kept it clean to a minimum and no more. Sure, I bought it about a month and a half ago and today was the first time I TRYED it, but it still hasn't done anything more impressive than my $15 filter. Now today. I had great intentions of cleaning the filter as it was quite dirty and this was not done. I was prepared, I had buckets and very vague instructions at my side to make sure I got it right. Immediately it went bad and the catastrophe lay right in front of me on the carpet and now there was no turning back. Water. Water flowed everywhere. No clean water. but dirty turtle droppings. I did my best to keep this water from spilling out of those pipes, but it splashed in places I didn't even touch. I was completely at a loss because I couldn't stop the water and I had nowhere to put the water. I am beyond mad at this product. Due to the impossibility of cleaning this filter, I don't even put it back in my aquarium for fear that it will flood the water again. I will not contaminate my animals with dirty water that is lying around due to poor quality product.
