MUCH more comfortable than other orthotics, but not as stiff as other orthotics. It was perfect for me as I have a weak ankle but I'm not injured. I seriously fractured and dislocated him 20 years ago and he still needs a little support. These braces are much less bulky than similar braces and most importantly for me, they don't hurt to wear. The shape of the side bars prevents them from being pressed directly into the outside of the ankle. Other braces did this and I couldn't wear them. I hope it lasts a long time but I will keep buying it even if I have to replace it in a few months. Still cheaper and easier than gluing.
