Cheap plastic, hard to tell if they're on or not (recommended to buy a pair with visible light on the earcup) This pair has a tiny point of light, on-off button"Play" button which has a horrible design so my daughter never turns it off when finished resulting in them always dead. I recommend buying a pair with a real switch. They also don't fold, which is pretty inconvenient for storage and basically makes them useless for travel. I regret the purchase and will likely make these headphones our replacement.
