This Seiko model has been around for 50 years, except for the transparent case back which was only recently introduced and is a great idea. It's beautiful, it's solid, and it's a reliable performer. I haven't tested how long it takes to roll up when attached, but if you're uncomfortable sleeping, it still works when you pick it up in the morning without sacrificing accuracy. The one I have now gains 9-12 seconds a day, which is close to chronometer readings. I destroyed the previous two watches by opening the caseback and trying to set them. You don't have to do this. A very small press of the trigger resets it for a win/loss minute or two. Manual adjustment is simply not possible, the mechanism is too sensitive and manually moving it back and forth will inevitably damage the trigger. In addition, when the watch is opened, moisture can get inside, which can also damage the seal. Just leave the watch alone and wear it, it will last for years. The best honestly assembled mechanical watch you can get for your money. I've had mine for a year and a half now and it still maintains a chronometer growth rate of 10 seconds a day. I have to say it again, great looks and great performance. I was just talking to a friend who had it for 20 years and it only stopped after it fell off because the strap broke. If you are a perfectionist, when setting the time, make sure that the minute hand is exactly on the minute hand and the second hand is exactly on the 12 o'clock position. Unlike the photo on the website where the minute hand is at 2 o'clock and the second hand is at 35 seconds. It's a little tricky, but once you set it up properly, the clock will keep its alignment. This is a beautiful classic watch, well made and at an incredibly affordable price. Buy one to wear for years and keep the other as a spare or gift for a friend. I forgot to mention that it comes in a beautiful gift box wrapped around a beautiful silk pillow.
