PERFECT as a scratching post replacement for our downright destructive cat

We have this cat who is obsessed with rope bollards. We have several in our house, but there is one that wants to destroy it. She loves to scratch him. The top half of the post was pressed against the tree, so I only wanted to restore the top half. This rope was perfect. WHAT IS IT FOR? I have the largest footage of this rope. It came in great shape, smells great, just like a natural rope should smell, and has a good texture. However, it is easy to unravel, but the ends are wrapped with tape to keep it from unraveling. HOW IT WORKS? At first I thought I would use a construction stapler to attach this, but the stapler didn't work properly. To start, I switched to a glue gun and glued some staples half in and half out of the wood. Once I did that, I carefully wrapped the rope around the top half of the post, leaving pieces of rope underneath for traction. Our cat is very destructive and I can't just hang her on a pole or she'll take it off right away. Once it was wrapped I hammered the staple on the end and covered it with hot glue. WILL IT STAY "It's not as pretty as the rope that came with the pole, but I have a lot of stuff that can be coiled multiple times if needed, so it doesn't matter. Our cat loves it and scratches it all the time. Next time I'll probably just apply some hot glue to the edge of the tree to secure the rows in place. She pulls them off too easily. If you have a cat like mine that goes mad when a rope covered pole destroys it, this is a great thing to have on hand. It is natural, sticks well and covers the wood well. Just make sure you have a hot glue gun handy to attach the rope in a few places. MY RATING IS FIVE STARS. I'm still learning how to use it well and so far it's really helpful. Our cat loves it. She just manages to lower it too quickly, which is frustrating. But that goes for store-bought posts too, so it's not just that.
