I saw this on Instagram and thought it was really cool so I wanted to keep it to surprise my husband with a gift for his 30th birthday. In short, it just doesn't work. I don't know if I had a broken block or what, but the spring was too strong and wouldn't stay in place. When I tried to put the cake on, it accidentally popped and the latch just wouldn't hold. It got to the point where I felt it would be too dangerous to put candles on top of the cake while it was on a stand (imagine how bad it would be if it burst with lit candles !?! Nothing like the 3rd degree). lit for your birthday!), so I decided to drop everything and give him his gift as usual. It really stunk because I thought the idea for the product was great and I really wanted to surprise him and make his milestone birthday special. Spring. Just don't expect to use it for a special occasion unless you want to risk disappointment.
