This pillow is a true 3-in-1 pillow, no matter how you sleep or what firmness you need, you will find the right one. My husband and I have very different pillow preferences and we both love this adjustable pillow. Luckily I ordered two. I mostly sleep on my back or side and need a medium firm pillow to be as comfortable as possible. I find the inner pillow is the perfect support for side sleeping. It's plush while providing support. My husband likes his pillows flat as a pancake and insists on using 10-15 year old pillows that have lost their cushioning. Lo and behold, he loves the outside cushion alone! He says it's pretty flat and very soft. My 4 year old daughter borrowed the outside pillow from me and now sleeps with it every night. So the whole house is happy and sleeps well! Now I need to order another set for the guest room so visitors can choose their comfort level for a good nights sleep.
