The first one we received never worked. It was sealed in the box with everything neatly enclosed in plastic bags and all the cables neatly held together with twist ties. We tried everything, an AC supply and batteries, it would never turn on. We read the operating instructions but we found nothing useful in the book. We returned the original and were sent another.The replacement was obviously not new. The original seal was broken, no plastic bags, and no twist ties. We did try it, it worked with both an AC supply and batteries. We then noticed that both books that were present in the original were missing. We also noticed that the battery compartment cover was loose in the box. We then found out that the screw intended to hold the cover in place was stripped. We returned this one also. We didn't want another one.
