I use a regular strap and strap attachment for backup, not as a main camera strap attached to a tripod or remote control head. The strap is only 1/4" wide. The usual camera strap width is 3/8". The small locking rings appear to be made of flimsy metal. Given that the combination of a professional or semi-pro body and telephoto lens weighs several pounds I don't feel safe enough with them as a backup.As an accessory like a battery/memory card holder or a lens cap clip, these harnesses would come in very handy.Static is one thing, but if you unplug the camera and then drop it onto the backup it can this can lead to extra stress.. the instructions do not indicate the load capacity of the strap, its seams and clamps. the attachment ring rotates. a good quality clip would be better.
