In order for the card to unfold and produce audiophile-quality sound, a few things must occur. To begin, the music must be in flac format alone; listening to an mp3 will "simplify" the sound. Second, the asio 24/96 driver is required to see the full potential of the card (installed as part of native drivers, from the disk attached to the card). The foobar player is what I use, and it has various add-ons that let you resample the 44,100 Hz audio to 96 kHz. As soon as the card detects such a stream, it will immediately enter bit-fidelity mode. The acoustics of a computer or electronic gadget approach perfection. I have an Asus D1 card and a Fiio E10 DAC for external use. Hence, the Audigy RX is superior. To my ears, the Fiovsky Dac has a "simplified," "flat," and "bad" tone compared to the aforementioned. The "caustic" summits of the asus are quite exhausting, and the sight is more "flat" after prolonged listening. In contrast, the Audigy RX has a full, spacious sound. Highs that are sincere and distinct. The bass is flexible and does not overpower the already detailed midrange. I should clarify that we are solely referring to headphone listening (I use Axelvox HD242). I have no idea how the speakers on this card sound because I never use them. The card, in my opinion, is optimized for use with headphones. I, too, prefer to use headphones while gaming; stereo sound is the standard for me, but I can't comment on multichannel.
