As a pilot I spend a lot of time looking for good sunglasses. I have owned (and still own) many of the best and most recognizable brands. I've come to the conclusion that you really don't need to spend a fortune to get good optics. Well. The reviews seemed promising and the specs sounded impressive for the price. The style isn't too flashy either. In real life they look exactly as described which is nice but the optical quality is frankly disgusting in my opinion. I would even say that they are generally not suitable for driving. In fact, I called my dad and warned him not to use them to drive. The problem is that the color contrast is shifted towards yellow/orange in such a way that everything looks washed out and amber. Reds - and indeed all colors - become harder to distinguish, which is a serious problem when driving. It's like looking through a piece of yellow cellophane. Judge for yourself and be sure to read other reviews and compare products. A while ago I bought some great sunglasses at Walmart for $19. I didn't like the style, but they looked great. The images accompanying this review (taken with the iPhone camera, unedited and under the same lighting) show one with and one without the Xloop HD sunglasses. I intend to return them for a refund.
