It comes in a plastic packaging. You will need scissors and patience to pull it out. But it's worth it.
Much softer than I thought. My 3ft 16lb cat LOVES IT. He can stretch out and hide in it without being too big for him. My 45 lb springer spaniel loves him as much as he does when the cat isn't a threat. I definitely bought this for my cat but I'm glad both pets work on it.
