I use them on a media panel to convert my phone lines to Ethernet (Cat5e cables). They print both schematics A and B on the side to facilitate correct connection. All you have to do is make sure your network is using the same plan and you'll be fine. I also use Leviton connectors which make installation even easier as they use the same pin color scheme. So once you've chosen a connection scheme (A or B), it's easy to stay consistent across the network. When you've finished tying the wire with the tool provided, simply trim the excess wire and snap the black cap over it. Since it's a quick release only, don't expect it to be strong enough to be used in an environment where the cable moves a lot as it doesn't have a built in lock.
