I moved my bar stools from my old home to my new one, but the counter at the new location was only 29 inches from floor to bottom of tree. under the counter. I'm 5ft 11" and my thighs scraped the bottom of the counter in a new location. Although the minimum seating was the same as my old chairs, I decided to give them a try. To my surprise and delight, the footrest on these chairs is lower than on my old chairs. So it's PERFECT and I don't have to rub my feet on the bottom of the counter anymore. I'm so glad I tried them. and it took about 5 minutes to assemble them! If you have a low counter, try this! Don't be fooled by the minimal seat height. Since the footrest is lower, they'll probably work just as well as mine :-)
