I've started using a Japanese futon for sleeping in the last year (making this organizer not that useful to me currently), but I got some good use out of this organizer before that. Someone else is getting some good use out of it now. It worked well, and seemed to be pretty durable. The material is thick and inflexible (canvas-like, perhaps). I'd expect it to be resistant to wear over many years of usage. It's attached to the metal bar by velcro (the fabric is looped back onto itself), and it seemed to have been holding very well during my usage. I wouldn't expect the velcro to fail in the long term because it isn't something that should have to be taken off that often (if at all).
