Review on 🐢 Nature's Recipe Grain Free Wet Dog Food: Chicken & Venison Stew, 10-Ounce Cans (Pack of 24) - A Nutritious Meal for Your Canine Companion by Adrienne Gonzalez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

4.5 stars, very good food.

This particular strain from Nature's Recipe is a very high quality canned dog food. Nature's Recipes Grain-Free Chicken and Venison Stew has one ingredient I'd rather not see on the label: sugar. Without the sugar, this would be a five star dog food. Dogs do not need to add sugar to their diet and given the amount of meat in this food it is not necessary for palatability. One of the signs of better food quality is the presence of a specific type of meat, which is indicated on the label. In this case chicken, chicken fat and venison. I also like that there is no plant-based protein (like chickpeas) in this food, only meat. Because of this, it has more protein than traditional canned foods, as well as less fat and carbohydrates. My dog seems to like the food very much, but he is not at all picky about food. She hasn't come across any foods she doesn't like. The food looks like a stew, with large chunks of meat that look real and aren't pressed into gelatinous chunks. It looks like a chicken that you cut up to make a homemade soup. Bits of veg are visible in the food, and it's all held together by a sauce that's neither too thick nor too watery. It doesn't look like your typical canned dog food. These cans are slightly smaller than regular 13-ounce cans. I mix half a can in my dog's morning food and she eats it right away. I'm a bit picky about what I feed her, avoiding dog foods with grains, artificial colors, artificial preservatives, controversial ingredients, and unnamed meat sources. While I'm not a fan of using sugar as an ingredient in this dish, I would still give it 4.5 stars.
