A good emergency kit option

I've had these bars in my car emergency kit for a long time. and believe they are a good product. As far as I can tell, the expiration date is very conservative. I ate bars that I wanted to replace because they were over four years old and thought they tasted great. Maybe the vitamin content is lower than a new bar, but if you're eating emergency bars, it's probably the calories that count. My suggestion is that when the expiration date is reached, you do not throw away the expired sachet, just add a new sachet to your kit. Bar packaging cannot be resealed after opening. I keep a ziplock bag of solder so I can store them after opening the factory packaging. The factory packaging contains food bars individually wrapped in a thin plastic food wrap that does not let air through; It just keeps the bars from sticking together. The material from which the food bars are made is somewhat crumbly and appears compressed rather than sticky. The taste reminds me of a muesli bar with a slightly nutty note. The weak point of the pack is that if it gets punctured because it's bouncing around in your emergency kit, the bars will go bad. Protects packaging from mechanical damage I use my FoodSaver to vacuum pack factory packed bars. This provides a second level of protection against punching through the original packaging.
