in because it was delivered in a large box. It was a warehouse deal, so it was a return, and it couldn't have been packaged that way originally. But I was happy to see that he survived well! It's obviously well made and very sturdy having endured a lot of knocks and rolls in this box, which says a lot about it here. The finish is excellent, as in the photo. A nice surprise is that it appears to be made specifically for the plastic liner, which looks like a recycled seafood food container that doesn't show until you remove it. No smell or anything by the way, and it's a good solid plastic, not too heavy, not too light. It fits well but can be easily removed. I'm so glad they found a use for them and didn't end up in a landfill! I love it when things can be reused. This is definitely not a negative aspect of this basket. I wish there were more of these things. I really like this basket. I use it as a trash can in the bathroom and it looks like it has a lid on it.
