It's good for 1080p gaming, but you can get better for the price. Found this a lot cheaper at 1440p.

I found this exact 1440p monitor on NewEgg for a lot less. It's better that way, IMHO. If you have to decide whether to use 1080p or 2k, go for 2k/1440p. For certainty. I'm buying another one from NewEgg this week to replace my 27" MSI 1080p flat screen.
