Good for protecting worktops or just storing hot items

They protect hands or worktops well from hot items! I often cook something in a pot, like soup, hot porridge, or just put some roast in a bowl and carry it to the living room to eat while I watch TV. I used a pair of cloth potholders to keep the bowl from burning your hand, but often enough heat leaked through them to make holding the bowl uncomfortable. These potholders are no problem, they insulate your hands well and protect the countertop from burns. They're said to be good up to 446F, hot enough to hold anything in a household kitchen, the only exceptions would be an iron skillet or wok, which you're allowed to heat up like a rocket to sear the meat. You have a hexagonal waffle. like texture on both sides, making them very grippy and non-slip. So far, rinsing in hot soapy water was enough to clean them. So far I've used it to grip iron pan handles and lids, hold hot bowls on my lap and other such jobs, no problems so far!

Pros
  • Home & Kitchen
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly
