Information on exactly what this handguard is made of is not included in the product description. Ever since I bought it I thought it might be useful for potential buyers to know what is on the box. I use all capital letters exactly as they appear on the box. 45% Polyester, 35% Synthetic, 13% Spandex, 3% Nylon, 2% PVC for logo on shield and 2% Velcro. I don't think of that when I see the word "Armor" and the phrase "PROTECTION FOR POWERFUL ENVIRONMENT THIEST FAIL". Here's what the warning says; "This product is cut and puncture resistant, but NOT cut and puncture resistant." DO NOT USE WITH ANGLING OR PORK KNIVES OR TOOLS." "Always perform a safe test to ensure it is suitable for your use . From this I concluded that it does not protect against a knife blade. It is difficult to cut with a knife without moving the blade. For my money leather would have offered more protection. Welding gloves or just some leather covering the forearm. Um To be honest I gave it 3 stars as it hasn't made contact with the blade yet and hopefully won't.
