Our car had an audio input that we never used until a family member gave us their old Kindle Fire. Unlike our Kindle Touch, this Kindle Fire allows us to play audiobooks. We joined Audibles to listen to audiobooks. We bought an external speaker for the house and a BlueRigger audio cable for the car. BlueRigger has opened up a whole new world of listening for us. Step 1: We plugged the cable into the car's audio jack and plugged the other end into the Kindle Fire jack; then we turned on the radio, hit the aux button, hit play on the Kindle audiobook screen. Wow! It was so easy! (Trust me, we're not very good with electronic devices.) Step 2: We set the Kindle on the shelf that the open card holder offers and leave with big, happy smiles. We could both be heard clearly over the car speakers. We are very satisfied with the sound quality and the audio book. The audio book we chose was one that we treasured years ago when we were members of Recorded Books. What a joy to hear these wonderful recordings again!
