I didn't get a chance to really overclock them before my trip to the mountains - I wore them for about 5 hours total, an hour or two at a time - and was very nervous because they felt very hard on. So after the first 6 mile hike (over mud, rocks, woods and muddy terrain) I was so pleasantly surprised that I didn't have a single blister or abrasion and my feet didn't hurt at all. If the rest of my body hadn't protested (having dislocated my hip many years ago) I could easily have walked another 6 miles in these boots. These boots are durable (large profile) but very light. Honestly the best boots I have ever had and very good value at a reasonable price. Because the tongue is attached, I had no problem going through puddles, small streams, and mud. I was the only person with dry feet when we got back. Even though I've ridden about 20 miles on them, to me they still feel stiff but sturdy, comfortable and supportive. I usually prefer flip flops, but I end up wearing them about half the time at camp because they're so comfortable.
