Review on Logitech G613 Lightspeed Wireless Mechanical by Mateusz Morawski ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product for me, I was satisfied with the price.

I took two sets, at home and at the office, exclusively for work, so I can’t say anything about games. For a month of use, the impressions are positive, and there were no critical shortcomings. Made to last, looks reliable (although, of course, it's too early to talk about reliability). The keys are pleasant, and they knock, for mechanics, not too loud; they work even with a slight pressure, so if you are used to membrane keyboards, you will not experience any inconvenience. So, in principle, everyone is satisfied and it fully justifies the price. But there are minor shortcomings. Firstly, a hard stand is not at all as comfortable as a soft one, and after, for example, the Logitech MK710, the difference is very noticeable. Secondly, the multimedia keys are disgusting - they are pressed strangely, not always clearly, with a strange sound. Thirdly, there is only one pair of tilt-adjusting legs, and this tilt is a little too big - I would like to have two options in an expensive keyboard. After waking up, it does not work out the first key pressed - this, however, is promised to be fixed in the firmware. Proprietary software that allows you to block individual keys from being pressed in the game mode, ALWAYS disables the Win and context menu keys by default, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to turn them back on - this can be a drawback. WHAT TO PAY ATTENTION TO: branded functions like programmable keys or game mode will not work with a Bluetooth connection (branded software does not recognize the keyboard) - only through the bundled receiver. This receiver is unique for this model and not from the Unifying series, for whom it is important. So, if you plan, for example, to connect two G613s to a laptop, two USB slots for receivers from both keyboards will be occupied (I could not make both keyboards work through one proprietary receiver).

Pros
  • Quality build. Good ergonomics. Nice key travel. For mechanics, pretty quiet.
Cons
  • Minor, albeit tolerable, software and firmware glitches. Unpleasant multimedia keys. Only one, too large, possible angle of inclination (one pair of legs).
