I just bought a 12.9 inch Mac Book Pro and I'm using my iPad around the house a lot to make short videos for YouTube. I bought a cheap stand and within the first minute I adjusted it and the iPad fell off. It's MEGA strong, reliable, easy to turn and vertical/horizontal too, the Mega is easy to assemble and I can't fault ALMOST anything about it. It's worth the extra money to save your iPad from extinction! The ONLY thing that isn't quite right (hence the removal of a star) is that (1) it tilts slightly from side to side (i.e. the mount doesn't seem to fully engage in one spot on the back and you have to manually make sure your device is level and (2) it's a bit awkward to walk upright on a large iPad as it hits the base when repositioning I suppose I could move the brackets a bit and just flip it to the side but it would be so nice not to have to think about it.Manageable but maybe the next model needs a longer back brace to accommodate a taller model.
