This rug is the perfect size to cover the top of my new toaster. I was about to kick out the toaster because it gets too hot at the top. Now I place this silicone mat (upside down) on top of the toaster, and then a heat-resistant cloth mat (which cannot withstand the high temperatures of a silicone mat) to create a cozy spot for my cat. . My cat would definitely climb on the toaster and I was afraid she would hurt herself. (Yes, I unplug it when I'm not using it. I only use it to make a little toast, so it doesn't turn on for long.) Now the rug. I took a very close look at all the pictures in the Revain ad. It should have a small hole in one end (presumably for hanging). Instead, it comes with a titanium-hard plastic hanging hook that cannot be removed. I'm concerned whether or not this hook is as heat resistant as the silicone mat, but I can't seem to get an answer on that. In the meantime, I move it slightly away from the edge so the plastic stud doesn't touch the stove. I am very unhappy that I cannot remove the hook. (Tried everything.) The reason for only 3 stars is the catch. If it wasn't for that I would have given 5 stars.
