This is probably great for small books

This is probably great for small books, but even falls short for moderately "long" or heavy books. When I put some of my smallest/thinnest cookbooks on it, the shelf bows towards the floor and the top books move away from the wall. In order to stack enough books to hide the wall mount, I overloaded the shelf with even the smallest books I wanted to put on it. The largest of them measures 8 x 8.5 x 0.5 inches - some of them were thicker but took up less space overall. Great idea, unfortunately ended up in the trash.
