This camera runs great on AA batteries and takes decent pictures. My biggest issue with this is that it doesn't save many photo settings, including the flash mode, and by default, the flash turns on every time you turn on the camera. Since I bought this as a camera for working in the car, even fresh batteries will not charge the flash on cold days. So keep an extra set of batteries in your camera bag and you may need to put the batteries in your bag to warm them up before using the camera in cold weather.
