Very happy with this purchase. I was looking for flimsy beach towels because lugging around a bunch of bulky beach towels that will never fit in a bag is one of my biggest annoyances. half a dozen times since purchase. Everything for use in the pool, at home and on vacation. It's thicker than I expected, but it's not that bad. The material is pleasant to the touch, thick and of high quality; not bulky. It's still insanely thin and light. I've used it as both cover and to wrap around when I'm not in the water. I can't say anything about the absorbency because I didn't pay attention to it. But as a pool/beach towel I would recommend it to anyone looking for it. Keeps you warm in the shade if you get wet. Oh and big! Long and wide enough to wrap around you and then some. I want to buy a few more to keep in my linen closet as bath towels. And maybe even hang a few in our visitors' guest toilets.
