The chemical framework has not faded for 6 months. The floor inside is flat and without cracks, making it easy to clean. I use it for espresso, tea and french press drinks. The heat dissipates pretty quickly, but you know it - it's glass. It's quite heavy - the glass is quite thick. Oddly enough, I found I really like the feel of a heavy mug.
