The shelf may tip over if very heavy items are placed on it (e.g. shampoo for the whole family). There is only one anchor in the middle so it can get uneven but it's nice that it can be moved around as needed and holds up better than the shelf I bought with the little suction cups. Update: Stays pretty good but can fall off with heavier objects or get stuck on a clean shower wall. Mine fell and broke one of the crank arms and doesn't like holding up heavy objects.
