This is a pretty good stool for my 3 year old. It's a few inches taller so she can stand up more easily. The only problem with this, as with all other designs of this type, is that there is no easy way for a toddler to unfold it without risking pinching their fingers. For example, if we hold it by the handle, you can't just put it down, then press the handle and expect it to open by itself. Rather, you should grasp the handle and then pull out the sides without pinching. It's easy for adults but not so easy for kids.
