I bought this unit because I needed a way to store shoes in my closet. When it arrived, I was immediately disappointed with the build quality. But I figured maybe it would sturdy up as I put it together. It did not.To start, the "legs" connect with cheap, flimsy plastic "supports." Then, when you put on the shelving sections, they're meant to slip over these plastic grommet things. They wind up being somehow both too loose and too tight at the same time. The experience of fitting the shelves is like trying to put a fitted sheet on a mattress — the corners are almost impossible to secure properly, and just when you get three of them on, the first one pops back off again.Also, the plastic fittings are extremely flimsy. I broke at least two of them trying to get the shelf corners secured over them. And it almost seems like the manufacturer knows they're inadequate, as you get several extras in the bag.The shelves also keep popping off the fittings as you build upward, necessitating a re-seating of each shelf as you progress with assembly. Maddening. Then, when you finish and step back to take a look at the assembled unit, the whole thing just looks janky and crooked. It also wobbles a lot even when assembled properly. If you're planning to store anything even remotely heavy on this thing, you're in for a rude awakening.The only thing that keeps this from being a one-star review is that once assembled, it WAS able to marginally serve the purpose for which it was ultimately purchased — holding footwear. But just BARELY. I would not put anything on it that was even close to breakable, as I wouldn't be at all surprised if it just up and collapsed at some point — it's THAT flimsy.Overall, I really wish I'd known how cheaply this was made when I bought it. It would still be too expensive at half what I paid.Caveat emptor.
