I have been using and loving Cashel Feeders for over 6 years but unfortunately they have recently been redesigned to make them less useful. Instead of a smooth seam between the sides and the bottom, there is now a fabric hem around the bottom. My guess is that it should improve durability (which I found to be pretty good), but it does capture the grain underneath. When the horse has done its best, I have to take the pouch off, shake it, clean it under the lip with my fingers, and put it back on. Even then, something always gets stuck on the floor that has to be cleaned every day. It's not so much about saving labor or reducing waste!
