Review on Enhanced Performance Lincoln II Plus 10/12 Meter Ham Radio by Dave Cavazos

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Highly Recommended Transceiver, President Lincoln II V.3+

This radio offers an amazing level of control. The reception is extremely sensitive and the high-pass filter works very well. The antenna noise limiter and noise suppressor are really good for mobile use. However, I've only used it once. Now this is a home unit powered by a computer power supply. 30 W peak AM, 56 W SSB and just under 40 W FM are power measurements on a dummy load. Due to my modest license I am not allowed to use AM, FM, LSB on 10 meters. The RF gain control helps a lot on days with noisy atmospheric conditions. This isn't just extra volume. Roger's beep timing is very handy for a 10m USB. I've set the duration to 50 milliseconds and no longer have to end sentences with "over," which I hate passionately. With such a short beep, it doesn't bother anyone and it still does its job of removing "over" at the end of sentences. 12 meters just for me. My modest driver's license is not good enough for 12 meters. CW is flat, with no harsh buzz or hiss like some CB/ham radio combos. Speaking of CB, it is assumed that this radio can be upgraded to CB. It might have something to do with the data port, I'm not sure. I already have CB. I would highly recommend this radio to anyone. You can be a total beginner like me or have the highest license your country offers, this is a radio for everyone. Even if you don't have a license, this is an excellent receiver on 10 and 12 meters. From what I've heard it even accepts 11m CB with a bit of tweaking (probably not transmitting). Some business bands can also be received at the shortwave end. It's not a full HF transceiver but what a £200 radio!
