I had a long 10 hour drive in freezing weather. The air was dry, dry, dry. This mini travel humidifier worked wonders. Soak the filter in the cup for an hour before use. I turned it on, filled it with water from a bottle, pressed the button and after a few seconds a pillar of fog appeared. It was really important. I think our RAV4 cab is a bit big for the unit, but it really helped keep my sinuses and eyes from drying out and burning from all that time in the SUV. The water lasted about 4.5-5 hours before I had to refill. I used Aquafina water because I like to drink clean and there was no mineral residue. I don't think it would be very good for a hotel room. The only drawback is the instructions for the holder. The instructions were probably for an older design holder, so the diagrams weren't entirely accurate. It's not clear how the holder is supposed to attach to the air vents and I haven't had time to fiddle with it. I just put it in the cup holder and everything was fine. Take a little more time to become familiar with the holder and how the parts fit together. This great little device is worth every penny. Highly recommended for car use.
