I ordered this petticoat to wear under a vintage style bridesmaid dress to a wedding. I prefer to wear skirts a few inches below the waist, which works best for my body type. So I ordered XL considering the thigh measurements. It arrived wrapped in a small package and burst into life as soon as the packaging was removed. I believe this item will travel very well in a compression bag. Pros: - Fills out the full skirt of my dress just enough to create a beautiful silhouette, but not enough to look overdone or elegant. - Soft material pleases my sensitive skin - Lace trim adds a feminine touch - Adjustable elastic waistband is easy to use and gives more flexibility to the product. Cons: - Stretchy stretches too easily which means it has to be snug to stay on your feet. I'm going to add extra buttonholes to the elastic so I can make it a little smaller. I recommend ordering the smallest belt size, at least 5 inches smaller than where you want the belt to sit on your body, especially if you plan on wearing it below your waist. In hindsight, maybe I should have ordered a large instead of an XL. The adjustable length means you can remove the elastic and reinsert it under the bottom edge of the skirt. While it's great in theory, when someone uses this feature, excess fabric is left over the waistband, which tends to bunch up and bunch up. Also, the bottom rubber pockets are sewn too tight, making it difficult to reinsert the bottom rubber. Instead, I decided to roll up the belt. This needs to be done at least twice or the slippery material will unfold and the petticoat will return to its full length. Multiple layers of synthetic fabric will keep you warm, so be prepared to work up a sweat if you plan to be outside in a hot climate for a long time. Flaws, love this petticoat and look forward to wearing it with a dress and hopefully other vintage style outfits in the future.
