I've received and tested the Amcrest AI Wi-Fi smart home camera for about three weeks now. I currently have six original Amcrest indoor WiFi cameras and two outdoor WiFi cameras that I have owned for over five years. I love them all! I was pleasantly surprised by the design of this new camera. It's much smaller and slimmer than my other cameras. The compact design means I can place the camera in small areas of the house. The only disappointment I had was that it came with a white power cord instead of a black one. I ordered a black camera hoping it would have a black cable like the others because it's a lot easier to hide. Also, it was a bit shorter than the last cable I received for the 4MP UltraHD indoor camera. This cord was 9.5 feet long. The difference in length just means it prevents me from using it in certain areas. I found installing a new camera to be very easy and the instructions easy to follow. The rest of my 8 cameras work in the Amcrest ViewPro app but I was unable to load that camera into this app. I had to use the Amcrest SmartHome app. Although this app is easy to use with a nice design, it causes some problems because now I need to display 8 of my cameras in one app and show them in the SmartHome app. I contacted support and they responded quickly and were very helpful. They provided instructions on how to connect the camera to the pro app and now it's working great. As for the SmartHome app, it was easy to understand how to set up a motion detection schedule. A small problem is that I can't figure out how to change the 24 hour time back to 12 hours. I also found that notifications arrived faster. Once I set up motion detection with people detection and smart tracking enabled. IMPRESSIVE! I was SO IMPRESSED. This is exactly what I need for a front/door security camera. My current camera recognizes my cat who crosses the path several times a day. While I enjoy looking at them, that's not really the purpose of this camera. I want to be notified when a person enters my home or crosses my line of sight. I also like the smart tracking feature. That it returns to its original position after passing the object is just great. Sometimes a person moves too fast and can't be tracked, but overall this is a great feature. Privacy mode is also a nice touch. It would be a great additional feature (though maybe I just can't find it) to have a privacy mode schedule setting. A privacy mode schedule would allow me to set this setting at the same time every day without having to set it manually. The instructions for the camera say you can use an SD card, but it doesn't say where the card is. It is partially obscured when the camera is facing forward. Turn the camera straight up and it's at the base of this sphere. It was also thought that moving the camera would require a new setup, but I've moved my camera several times this week. Even if you leave it unplugged for a few hours. returned and displayed in the application with no problems.
