These brushes are like no other I have ever used! I'm not sure if it's just the density of the hair/fibers, but when I use these brushes to smooth my makeup, there is no ZERO transfer left on the brushes afterwards. Maybe that's the whole point of these oval brushes, but the design REALLY does a great job of creating smooth, blended surfaces. I think the small eye brushes take a little getting used to, but the 5 largest ones are great for (in order): foundation/powder, contour/bronzer, blush, highlighter, and concealer. You can spend more on these brush styles (I almost did, over $30 for two), but I like to try an idea before I go all out. And in this case, I threw away all my other face brushes (I still use the brow and eye brushes).
