White is hard to clean. There's a fine line between looks and practicality when you have to constantly clean it. Ironically, we decided to make it white to make it look "cleaner". And it has paid off for us. We love the look. It's big enough to hold all our cutlery plus a few extra items that we keep there for the kids. The knife compartment is long enough so that the knives do not have to be tilted. We've bought quite a few in the past that were too short for our knives, believe it or not. We've had them for over 5 months now and they haven't turned yellow or dirty. We clean it every few weeks to remove any tiny crumbs or dry food that might fall off the cutting board stored directly above.
