Review on JBJ Nano Refugium Light Aquarium by Gary Beard

JBJ Nano is a good light for most lagoons/shelters

JBJ Nano Glo Aquarium LED Shelter JBJ Nano is a good light for most lagoons/shelters. Obviously the light is only limited by its size so it's a good choice for small general purpose aquariums like Innovative Marines, Biocubes 29 etc. I wouldn't recommend the JBJ Nano for large sanctuaries that need a large living space. Be light, use over-the-palette lighting instead. After working with my Biocube 14 I envisioned a basket in the tank made up of filter floss, Purigen, Chemi Pure Elite and then Heto in the refugium part of the tank. Basket. While all of this was being installed, I noticed a slight drop in flow in the second chamber, resulting in brownish algae. I didn't have good cheto growth and there was too much light for the fugue. I gave up JBJ Nano and Chaeto/Refugium in favor of Biocube. I currently only use filter floss, Purigen, Chemical Pure Elite in my aquarium media basket and my aquarium is doing very well in terms of coral growth. They are better suited to Biocube 29 than BC14 in my opinion. It may have been operator error on my part (weak current) but honestly my aquarium works better without a refugium. Do 1-2 gallons of water changes every two weeks and you'll be fine. I added a JBJ Nano on top of another 30g tank to my Eschops Nano Cube Refugium and it was amazing. Hetto is a fast grower and needs weekly/fortnight pruning. Sometimes I wish I had a light above the hideaway to illuminate both sides (I converted the skimmer area into a hideaway). Currently my light is lit between both sides. Does it work, could it be better? Yes
