Review on πŸ’ˆ Ultimate Value: Gillette Sensor Excel Shaving Cartridges for Men (10-pack; Packaging May Vary) by Anita Davis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Gillette keeps pushing up the price of the Sensor Excel.

I use the Sensor Excel as a travel razor because my home kit is a Merkur double-blade safety razor with shaving soap and badger hair brush. I stay in hotels 60-80 nights a year, so carrying soap and a shaving brush isn't very convenient. I've tried all the recent amazing 4.5-6 razors with disgusting blades and none of them have worked as well as the Sensor Excel. The only problem I have with the new models is that the hinge works in a way that I can't get under and around my nose. It might seem like a small thing, but if the blade's design doesn't allow me to easily shave that area, it's a deal breaker. I'm always happy to buy the Sensor Excel as a travel razor, but the cost just keeps going up. Up until three years ago I could buy a pack of 10 SE cartridges for around $10-11. Now the same package costs $19-20. For the same money I can buy Feather double-edged safety razor blades that will last for several years. Seems Gillette is pushing me to have a "travel" version of my safety razor, shaving soap, and badger brush combo. I think they want everyone to switch to the newer wonder razors. I'm sure I'm not alone.
