This foot is designed for the Acufeed Flex system and is only designed for use with the Janome HP needle plate (professional quality) which only fits a very limited number of premium Acufeed Flex systems machines (read: very expensive). My Janome Skyline S6 is a mid-range device with Acufeed Flex but without all the software bells and whistles. This isn't one of the machines you can use the HP needle plate with (the HP plate runs a program on pricier Acufeed Flex machines that moves the needle to the right, left position). But I'm smart enough to realize that when I use the straight stitch needle plate and set the needle to the left position, this presser foot works perfectly! As intended, it is located directly above the two left-hand racks. When Janome says this foot "should be used with an HP needle plate," what they really mean is that 1) you are not smart enough to manually adjust the needle position to the left every time you use the foot, and 2) if you want a professional straight stitch foot, you need to buy a $2,000 or more machine. Not so! PS This is an amazing, breakthrough foot for precise 1/4" narrow seams. I just used it to make a custom shirt and it did the best!
