I have several chargers that fit my laptop but none of them work. Correct voltage, current and polarity, but the laptop only blinks when plugged in. I'm assuming the charger gives the laptop some sort of digital signature to ensure it's a "genuine HP charger"? I do not know. But I dared and it worked. It's quite bulky for my small laptop, but I think that's because they support a wide range of laptops, some of which are big power hogs. It also works with my Dell monitor with the same connector (but the Dell charger doesn't work with the laptop). I didn't realize it had 3 plugs on the end when I bought it. I don't like how it looks but it is clearly shown in the picture so can't complain. Maybe this will be useful in the future.
